The Riverside Centre for Outdoor Learning, Oxford is an outdoor activities centre, run by Oxfordshire County Council, Early Intervention Service. The centre is used by a wide range of schools and community groups and offers outdoor activities for children, young people and adults. The main focus of the centre is towards serving the young people of Oxfordshire.

Located on the banks of the River Thames, approximately one mile south of Oxford City Centre, the centre is ideally located for activities based on the water, around the clubhouse and in the countryside of Oxfordshire. Team building facilities are run on-site and many off-site trips and activities, both on and off the water, are run in locations all over the UK and abroad. The programme includes opportunities for climbing, hiking, orienteering, camping and bushcraft

There are regular paddlesport training sessions  with the Oxford Canoe & Kayak Club held at the centre or in the Blackbird Leys pool, located 5 minutes drive away.

The onsite shop helps to contribute funds for the work of the centre and allows us to engage with young people who may not otherwise be able to take part.

The Centre is BCU approved and holds an AALS Licence to permit a range of adventurous activities.

Our Mission Statement

"Riverside is part of Oxfordshire County Council and is working in partnership with young people and their communities to extend horizons and provide whole person development through challenging and safe engagement with the outside world."
