The Riverside Centre is a County Council based outdoor activities centre, which is run by Oxford County Council Education Service. The centre is used by a wide range of school and community groups and offers activities for young people and adults. The main focus of the centre is young people, aged 13-19.

The centre is ideally located on the banks of the River Thames, approximately one mile south of Oxford City Centre. The majority of activities are based on the river around the clubhouse, however trips away are organised as well. As well as water based activities the centre has team building facilities on sight.

The centre has a busy program offering tuition and guidance in both kayaks and canoes, from beginner through to coach standard. There are also training sessions in the Blackbird Leys pool, which is located about 15 minutes drive from the centre.

Inside the centre building is a clubroom, changing rooms and showers. The centre also owns trailers, canoes and kayaks, and a small amount of clothing, for use on courses.

The onsite shop helps to fund the work the centre does and allows the centre to engage in youth work it otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
